About the authors Neither of us is a famous chef nor a well-known author, however, we do like to cook and to collect and invent recipes, and we are interested in sharing with others what weve learned even as others have shared with us. Why is there such an interest in cookbooks? (There are so many available!) One reason is that cooks need inspiration! "What shall I fix today?" is the cry of the homemakers heart. We long for a fresh idea that will get us out of a rut. Maybe that longing is heaven-sent. Why? Because variety is not only good, its necessary. "The meals should be varied. The same dishes, prepared in the same way, should not appear on the table meal after meal and day after day. The meals are eaten with greater relish, and the system is better nourished, when the food is varied."1 There is another need that cooks long to have met "What is something easy that everyone will like?" So with these goals in mind we have put this collection together hoping you find fresh inspiration to be the best cook you can be. Elisabeth Heidinger and Gerry Lohrke |
